Carbon Reduction Plan
Northern Bites Ltd is committed to achieving Net Zero greenhouse gas emissions across our operations and value chain by 2050. This plan sets out our baseline, our current performance, the projects already delivering measurable reductions, and the roadmap that will guide our business over the next 25 years.
Our commitment to Net Zero
As a premium halal food manufacturer supplying universities, hospitals, education, travel, vending and retail across the UK, we recognise our responsibility to the communities we serve and the environment we operate in. Northern Bites will reach Net Zero by 2050, with staged interim targets independently reviewed each year.
Our Carbon Reduction Plan is board‑approved, publicly available and refreshed annually. It covers Scope 1 (fuel & refrigerants), Scope 2 (purchased electricity) and material Scope 3 categories including purchased goods and services, upstream transport, waste and business travel.
At a glance
The headline numbers that frame our progress this reporting cycle.
Baseline emissions footprint
Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases emitted before the introduction of any strategies to reduce them. They represent the reference point against which all future reductions are measured.
| Scope | Source | Emissions (tCO2e) |
|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | Natural gas, refrigerants, on‑site fuel | 182.4 |
| Scope 2 | Purchased electricity (location‑based) | 241.6 |
| Scope 3 | Purchased goods, upstream transport, waste, business travel, employee commuting | 772.3 |
| Total baseline emissions (2025) | 1,196.3 | |
Current emissions — reporting year 2026
Emissions measured for the current reporting period, using the same methodology as our baseline.
| Scope | Source | Emissions (tCO2e) |
|---|---|---|
| Scope 1 | Natural gas, refrigerants, on‑site fuel | 171.9 |
| Scope 2 | Purchased electricity (location‑based) | 225.4 |
| Scope 3 | Purchased goods, upstream transport, waste, business travel, employee commuting | 742.0 |
| Total emissions (2026) | 1,139.3 | |
